>>10830888I've donated all of my Mattel Rexs to charity, Outside of the Sauropods, vehicles, and humans that won't get HC figures, I just don't really see the point in collecting any of the Mattel figures.
>>10830908My Lythronax, he'd mostly been on the shelf for a while, but talking about BOTM got me messing around with him again. It's been fun posing him with my MonHun figures, but it almost makes me wish for a 1/18 Zinogre.
>>10831412>The rex is, frankly, an embarrassment for what is supposed to be a centerpiece of this line of heavily articulated dinosaurs- which is how they are advertised and marketed.I can get behind that with the 1/18 Rex. I still think that the Yu and Lyth have better articulation than any of the HC figures (though not a fan of the three ugly tail chucks but I understand adding more articulation would drive up the cost further), but I've seen more than enough reviews for the 1/18 Rex to know that I did not want to spend $230 on it.
> I hope they continue to improve, but I don't really appreciate the vague implications that I haven't bought or supported the line the way I did for years and then had to deal with all of the problems and disappointments when you apparently just started to buy a small handful of the most recent figures.I have all but a handful of the early HC toys and outside of the Rex, it wasn't until the Irritator wave that the HC felt like it was a collectors line. I'm a recent collector of BOTM and the only "older" figures I have are the Trike and the Raptor, I never had to deal with the long wait times between Kickstarters, so maybe that gives me a more positive experience. But my experience with the Tyrannosaur line has been positive. If I'd spent $230 on the 1/18 Rex maybe I'd have a much more negative view and maybe that'll change when I have my Daspletosaurus in hand, but it seems like the line's only been improving with each wave.
