Because nobody wants to pay $15-$30 for a minifigure, what's effectively a polybag build, and 2-3 overpriced plastic discs with NFC chips on the bottom. Dimensions the game sold just as well as any of the other TT Lego games, the problem lies within the level packs and funpacks being overpriced for what they are. No sane individual would buy this for $30, and that's why the majority of the line ended up at a Five Below.
Plus outside of the Sonic/Portal sets and that one Midway arcade set the vast majority of Dimensions stuff was Movie/TV properties like Harry Potter, LOTR, DC Comics, Doctor Who, Knight Rider, and the Wizard of Oz. Or do licensed themes in general not sell now?
