>>8369305I think the boxed one activates that part of my brain that is still a kid, and is endlessly captivated by the allure of a toy in its packaging. Even when I was younger I realized that the appeal of the toy itself was often not as great as the excitement of it in its package. It's the moment of anticipation, that one second right before the drop on the rollercoaster. Package designers and illustrators don't get enough credit. I can't even properly put into words the level of excitement of seeing Exo-Squad boxes for the first time.
I'm no MISB collector or anything, I open all my toys. But I still think there's a heady thrill to well-designed toy packaging.
