HOWEVER, I've been thinking, what if that was never the case. From what I understand, Revol-Mini production was all entrusted to Yamaguchi, that includes character selection. I think that can be seen from the lineup too. I guess the IP's didn't really matter so much because production cost was lowered significantly by his fast sculpting. These Minis were basically made from one base body, many sharing the same molds even.
So with less "waste" of time and money, Yamaguchi sneaked out and got approvals for MGS1 characters. As full size Revos requiring more sculpt work, and the risk of not selling because of the high pricing (why Mini started), I'm not sure if MGS1 would have been chosen for full size revoltechs even if Mini didn't happen.
Now if Vulcanlog didn't fall apart like it did, that's a whole different possibility.
