Depends on the shonen, but there's usually several that rank at least in the top 10 in popularity that get overlooked as potential action figures for male characters because the guys get more fight scenes. Rukia's the best example of this never having ranked lower than 3 in popularity. Newer shonen mostly avoid this by making their female characters more relevant to the plot which is why we see more female figures from newer series than the big 3.

People want the 2nd most popular character in the series? Shocking. I'm not too mad about them going with the current designs, but it's no surprise a lot of people are more nostalgic for the ones from the majority of the series. Not sure why you're acting like the same shit doesn't go on for Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and etc.
