OK, so after Fall 2023, we still need the following:

Two Bad, Sy-Klone and Modulok to round out the Class of 85,
Multi-Bot, Dragstor, and 5 Heroic Warriors from 86.
Blast Attak, movie trio and Energy Zoids.
That's 14 basic or deluxe figures and 2 $35-ish box sets.
Plus one more vintage deluxe variant of Hordak, Skelly and He-Man.
And whatever non-vintage subset they intend to get into next.

Yeah, exactly. I wasn't in the fandom during Classics, but doing all the non-toyetic designs from Filmation, 200X and all sorts of comics in large scale seems so wrong-headed. All the pics I've seen of people's huge collections is shoulder-to-shoulder on narrow shelves built into the walls or "class photos" with risers, whereas a couple hundred 1:18 figures are an eminently playable army.

In fiction to date, most of them have pretty weak connections to the A-listers except the King and Queen, Sorceress, Roboto (now that he's been depicted as Duncan's son/Teela's brother), Mekaneck and Rotar (because Duncan did their cyber surgery).

I think the most telling thing is the only images I've seen of people's MOTUC collections are "class photos" or side-by-side single file on wall-mount shelves. Clearly they made way too many characters to play with at that size.
A huge line with no action features and that amount of articulation would make sense packed into Mega Construx size. But no, Classics were bigger than vintage despite not needing physical space for action features.

I mean it's really cool that it ended up including, what, twice as many figures as vintage MotU and PoP combined? But Mattel could have given them double-hinge elbows and knees with the same visible pins and superior ankle articulation in 2008 instead of cheaping out.
Also, hindsight is 20/20, but if they'd known it would become so expansive, the smaller the scale the better. Notice how you just see people display them like class photos on a shelf, because even adult collectors don't have enough space to make dioramas of their huge collection of 7" figures?

I think the original idea of Clamp Champ as the king's bodyguard is pretty dull and he should be on a Rescue Heroes team with Sheriff Rio Blast, firefighter Snout Spout and a medic.

Well Randor's human kingdom allied with Stratos's Avion, the Bee People, and Heroic Warriors did pick up a Trollan, a nature spirit and a Gar. There's also Lizzy and Gwildor, if they ever use them again.

Fisto and Clamp Champ are under Teela's command but don't attend her ceremony, then the writers assassinate Randor's character to set up a scenario where Teela and the characters in the Filmation opening credits never interact with the Palace people. So they could have given Stratos, Ram Man, Man-E-Faces, Buzz-Off, Mekaneck, Rio Blast and Rotar silent cameos in the Palace and battle. Optionally also Snout Spout, Extendar, the Rock People and Gwildor, but it's understandable to not stuff them in if it would mess with doing extra-planetary origins when they have time to use them as real characters in the future.

Exactly. I never see someone who bought into Classics making scenes that show off the massive character selection. They're either on a shelf in neutral poses or just a couple of characters interacting dynamically.

Stratos is King of Avion.
The Rock People are their own weird thing.
Man-E-Faces, Fisto, Buzz-Off, Mekaneck, Roboto, Moss Man, Sy-Klone, Extendar and Rotar (if anyone cares about him) are your troops. The Goddess can provide magical support and Gwildor can provide science support.
Snout Spout, Rio Blast, Clamp Champ and "Healor" are off being Rescue Heroes.
