You'd be surprised by the sheer number of rip offs in existence. Pic very much related, I saw them pop up in local discounters a year or two back. They came in pairs, boasting various bizarre color schemes. The transformer connection doesn't end there though, as by this point, even Hasbro tried their hand at constraction with construct bots.
There's also the myriad of bionicle clones mega construx put out at various points through out the 2000's. But all that pales in comparison to the sheer volume of chinese k.o.'s that were everywhere for some time in recent years.
