I mean obviously Furman wrote most of the early stuff but a lot of Roberts stories pull from marvel UK especially. My problem was never the nature of the romances, I just don't find them interesting, whether or not they belong in tf stories is another thing entirely and from what I understand that's where a lot of the later idw stuff ended up going. I only read up to the begining of dark energon and skipped around after that. Honestly it felt like they desperately needed to cram characters and nods to every continuity towards the end. Like having a majority of the BW cast be a minor threat(?) and then never do anything again. That's not to say there's nothing good in idw but I found it strange how a majority of the fanbase only cared, or seemed to at least, about the relationships and all the bizzare internet baggage that comes with that.
