So I've been trying different techniques for panel lining and having some trouble. I recently snapped up the Qubeley Damned and want to give it some nice clean black lines on all the detail, but I've been doing tests with some of the left over parts and nothing seems to go right.
Panel lining with a pen is ok, but even the lines of a black marker are grayish on the white. Lining with a wash of paint and lighterfluid works for a nice hard black but attempting to clean it up seems to always leave smudges all over the place. Its not very obvious on most kits but on something pure white like this it stands out. Plus it seems next to impossible to clean up some areas where the lines crisscross at different angles so wiping perpendicular to them all at the same time isn't possible, so I either miss things or end up wiping up lines that I want to stay.
Any suggestions or am I just doing something wrong?
