>>9616482>Who says? The NFT collectors. You'll note that when people criticize NFTs they never defend the art, only the value. NFTs from particular artists are only sought because the value associated with it.
>so...like with sofubis. Ok.You're actually 100% wrong there. Most people buy Sofubi to have them. Are flippers and Scalpers a thing? Yes, especially with certain "brands". But I'd say 95% of sofubi figures that people buy go into their collections and never come out. I think I have something like 50 or 60 figures and I've only sold 1 figure and traded 2 for other figures. You'll see drops of like 30 or 40 figures and maybe 1 or 2 will show up for resale. The others vanish into collections. The sofubi market is not a commodity/resale market and some artists actually go out of their way to ban resellers.
>so...like some of NFT collectionsNo, because NFTs are often cheap initially and are generally very simple to make. A sofubi maker will sink 10-20 grand into a single figure; the high costs are because they have to overcome the huge cost of manufacturing as a single person.
>Just like NFTs.Just like any product actually. The majority of all products on earth are not very expensive with some becoming more expensive as they become niche.
>like i described - the exact same bullshit "NAME" slapped over NFT to blow up the price.Thats not unique to NFTs, that's a fundamental factor in all commerce. A nike shoe with Jordon on it sells for more. A movie with tom cruise brings in more watchers. A purse with Gucci on it sells for more. Such is notoriety and fame.
>look less of a dogshit to a person is not that easily brainwashed by the name of anythingI agree. But then again I don't buy things because of the artist. In fact the majority of stuff I own is by no-name american artists. I buy stuff because I legitimately just like it, not because I think its a good investment or I think I can resell it for double the price or something.
