No shit many of us grew up with Johnson merchandise.
You know why the Romita Spider-man, Trimpe Hulk, Buscema Avengers, Colan Iron Man, etc, are so popular? They were on merch that people grew up with. They weren't the first artists to draw those characters, but were drawing them at a heavily merchandized period. People tend to gravitate to what they grew up with.
This is why Mafex is doing so well; they're steering close to a very common depiction of these characters for most. currently active collectors, for the most part.
