>>7996812It's hard to tell which came first in the "Thunderblast's design is terrible" logic-- all we really have is a vague concept art that showed they planned "giant wing pack" from an early enough phase.
Though in the world of "Cybertron concept art" I'm more always laughing at how MUCH of Leobreaker's has notes "make sure the arm is good/make a better arm/focus on giving him a real hand" all over the place and the final toy had almost NONE of that in place due to budget.
