Back when it was still releasing the comic was regularly touted on /co/ and pretty much every big forum at the time as a major example of how Miller was losing his touch and any grasp on subtlety. Things like "are you dense, are you retarded" got memed to fuck and back because they were fucking stupid. Every time a new issue was released folks would be gathering around to laugh at what a fucking mess it was, not praising it. It's like Batman Odyssey in that it's appealing to this for what a goddamn idiotic trash fire it turned out to be and not at all what the creatives behind them intended.
