In the past you would touch the fabric and it was silky soft just like the classic doll dresses. About a few years ago me and another anon in these threads started to notice that the fabric being used on the classic dolls was getting a little stiff, and brittle to the touch. You would think that they would of course use the higher quality fabric for the $140 12" designer dolls, but that simply isn't the case. I touched Esmeralda's dress and was bummed to feel that they were using the cheaper fabric on them. Most if not all of the golden details were printed/ironed on.
They only legit embroidered details on the Esmeralda doll were on her scarf shawl.
