A few months ago, I was over at GameStop and noticed a fucking wall of Star Wars toys on clearance. I was surprised and asked the guy working there why they weren't selling. To my surprise, he told me they were - just extremely slowly, which actually made the problem worse. According to him, they'll get maybe like two boxes of toys and they hardly sell, but as soon as one toy sells, more boxes come in with Star Wars toys, regardless if it has the clearance tag or not.
I wonder how similar that situation is with other retail stores, and if so, what that pattern of behavior means.
