I agree I would love a smiling Superman head too, and dan jurgens probably drew Superman with a smile in the odd panel here and there, but that whole mullet era is definitely not associated with a smiling upbeat Superman.
That said I hope we get a hopeful and upbeat Superman from mafex soon. My dream is for them to do a more stylized frank quitely all-star Superman like they did with miller batman.
