The problem, though, on the surface, would appear to be this: Mattel owns the rights to Orko (they purchased him from Filmation sometime in 1984/85, that's when the copyright info changes on the merch), but not his homeworld, and no other members of his race. I believe that those lie currently with DreamWorks by way of owning the animated series.
