It's been a while since I've bothered building modern sets, and this practice is annoying to me. If I ever want to build something else in the same theme but somewhat different, I now have to make sure I place the part that doesn't fit in a hidden, inside part of the build.
Why not just make all parts in the few main colors of the build?
It's done in most (if not all) modern sets, so what's the reason for it?
