Review Time!
This is the guy who has that huge backlog, finally opened up one of the sets and got to work.
Today I built 75150: Vader's TIE Advanced vs. A-wing Starfighter
This is one that I've been wanting to build for s long time, pretty much since I initially saw the leaked product image.
I'm not going to talk much about the A-Wing in this review but I will say that they have implemented some interesting ways of firing the bolts. Though I am very dissapointed with how loose the rear engines / wings are on this set.
Now, Darth Vader's Tie figher is a different story. Much better than the one I have from 7152: TIE Fighter & Y-wing.
This version of the Tie Fighter is sligntly smaller than 7152. It's not a huge difference though. The build is very parts dense so not only does that give it some of that needed extra details, but it also makes it much sturdier in design than it's previous iteration. The extra parts also give it a bit of weight, this is it's main issue, the weight of the build is too much for the wings to support it without warping. This can be fixed by putting a plate on the Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2. This prevents the bottom wings from closing in too far when the model is resting. Though there is still a bit of bending where the wings attach to the body. I have not found a way to fix this issue yet.
The figs selection is pretty great too. I now have the new version of Vader with the two part helmet, and now I have Tarkin as well. Too bad he's not in his gray uniform...
