>>7967133>it's a fucking landmine to get good toy reviewsSerious question: does anyone actually NEED toy reviewers? It's pretty easy for me to decide whether or not I want to buy something, and word of mouth seems to do a pretty good job of alerting people to particularly excellent figures or those that should be avoided due to QC problems. And you can get a pretty good feel for size and articulation just by looking at pictures.
Maybe I could see the point if you're going to drop some serious dough on something that has a lot of potential to be a waste of money, like a modern "Masterpiece" figure, but those are few and far in between, and it seems like most people in these threads don't even bother with them anymore. Do you really need to listen to some neckbeard blather on about plastic from Wal-Mart for 20 minutes? What's worse is that many reviewers often gloss over some serious issues or don't even do a good job of showing off the transformation or articulation, and then they gush about the figure anyway because it's X character and yayyyyyyyy, consoooom!
