>>7476017For someone who is bitching about subjective views, you sure love trying to pass your opinion on what's gimmicky or not as objective.
But i guess it's because you're a retard, considering you're equating "gimmick" = "bad"
The fact of the matter is that something as simple as this green army man isn't a statue like you're trying to claim, but a toy. The term "Action figure" was a term created by Hasbro to make boys play with dolls and here you are ignorantly using the word, without understanding it's just another gimmick created by a company.
But again, it's missing the point, which is that gimmicks can fit a toy extremely well. You're so into the super articulated gimmick that you can't even separate from a toy. It's akin to people who collect hot wheels and other diecast toy cars, because it's an essential feature, because it's emulating the subject matter. Just like how articulation emulates the poses characters in cartoons and comics.
You know what else emulates the subject matter? A stone-like material used to created the craggy appearance of Darkseid. This stone-like material actually costs more to produce, unlike diecast, which is specifically formulated to be as cheapshit as possible

It was basically created by McFarlane, who started toys featuring a ton of paint apps and higher detailed figures to separate his stuff from the other action figure lines at the time. So instead of a green army man, here's a McStatue that kids and adults were buying up.
