>>8008256I have Tokyopop (magazine, around the time they started also doing manga), Newtype, Wizard, Gamefan, Gamepro, Nintendo Power, TIME, New Yorker, EGM, and other stuff. About five 3' shelves worth of magazines from the 90s and early 00s.
I had been a subscriber to TIME since the early 00s and stopped like 3 years ago, when shit just wasn't worth it anymore. Just way too thin and sparse in content. The old stuff that i saved is superior not just in how much better written it was, but because they wrote pages and pages worth of insightful shit. New shit isn't as well written AND isn't as indepth anymore. Very little worth keeping.
Aside from that, i had been getting free subscriptions for OPM, EGM, and other gaming mags in the early 00s and i tossed most of that shit away. Only stuff that held up was Dave Halverson's Play and Gamers Republic magazines, along with other odd magazines that actually WERE "higher quality product" despite not being as in depth as older shit was.
I don't even go to gaming sites anymore, because even that shit rotted away.
Toy stuff is pretty much the same shit, with only older folks like mwctoys and generalsjoes keeping WELL written reviews alive.
Fucking youtube/google/facebook/twitter fucked everything up from print, to television, to all media. Talent still exists, but fuck if it isn't being pigeonholed and forced into the wrong holes.
