I come from /tg/ with questions. I know this isn't exactly "custom", but I figured you guys would know more about this than /tg/.
I wish to Jew Games Workshop out of their money by making recasts of bits and entire dudes at home. Right now I have some silicone and some smooth on 65D casting resin.
Pic is my first casting attempt that I made with a crudely cut. I have since ordered some modeling clay and alumilite mold release so I can create better two part molds.
Does anyone have any tips, or a better way to go about doing this sort of thing? I saw some videos where people used epoxy resin for two part mold casting, but I don't know how practical that is for my purposes.
One of the issues I have at the moment is the sheer amount of bubbles in my resin. You will notice all the little bits and blobs created by the bubbles on this guy, and he lost half of one foot.
My ultimate goal would be able to recast an entire (small) sprue so I could simply snag one off Ebay and then make 5 more for 1/5th the price.
