>>7078360>followed them when they were making cool fucking military figures with tons of accessories and realistic gear and quality articulation>one day their main site I was collecting all the product pics of their figures goes down>down for months>think that the best 1/6 toy manufacturer is no more, got really sad>then their site comes back>they've made a total shift to movie licensed figures, all their military figures are d/cThey're still maybe the best 1/6 scale companies in the industry but godamn it sucks that all they do is movie license shit now, despite how impressive it is, their skill and quality is the best alright, but that also means they charge a lot more, and other 1/6 companies who make military/WWII figures and originals start to do the same.
It's getting ridiculous now with theirs and Sideshow's prices, for figures that come up with what, a single weapon and 5 pairs of hands.
They make the best 1/6 Star Wars figures, usually better than Sideshow's in every way, but what does it matter when they're so expensive you can't even afford them. Average Hot Toys Star Wars figure is $205-260 now, I remember when I though even charging $180 was pushing it.
I wish they could start making military figures again, those might at least be cheaper than licensed shit with movie accurate headsculpts, I don't care for that as much as I do the quality of the figure itself, articulation, accessories and sculpt, and they usually deliver in that no matter what but lately many of their figures are starting to lose a lot of acceleration like the First Order troopers with a fatsuit underneath the TT body, they shouldn't forget that articulation comes above accuracy, after all if you wanted a super movie accurate figure that could hardly move because of how they prioritized accuracy over articulation - then you might as well buy a statue, and HT prices are climbing and climbing so much that they will soon enter that price range even.
Pic related old Hot Toys.
