The big problem is that applications like foil tapes and photoetched parts require the stainless steel to be easily bent, but the series of stainless steel that are easier to bend also tend to have less iron content and are thus weakly or not magnetic.
On the bright side, there seems to be a trend of Chinese hobbyists making photoetched parts out of magnetic stainless steel, purpose-made for Diaclone.
