I’m back on a Diaclone kick—Tridigger arrived today, Trirambler should be here on Saturday, and I took a few other figures out of storage to mess with. I love Diaclone but I’m gonna dump some thoughts about how I think it could be more systematic/modular:
- Dia/Cosmo Battles’ backpack isn’t quite the right shape to attach to Battle Buffalo as securely as you’d expect
- Battle Buffalo’s thighs are too blocky to accept Dia Battles’ legs even though the connection is compatible
- Other instances of parts that can’t be swapped because the sculpt gets in the way
- The Trivers figures should have had the same shoulder and thigh connections as Battles/BB so you could swap arms and legs between any of them
- The cockpit cavity in Big Powered’s claw-tank vehicle (the one with its crotch+thighs) should have been compatible with the Trivers bullet cores
I know the Verse Risers help bridge some of the systems, but I wish it was a little more wholistic from the beginning. I do appreciate that they keep introducing new ideas though.
