Haven't build a kit in a long time, working on a Dragon 1/350 Frank Knox.
Pretty sure I fucked up the haze gray color, I used Tamiya sky gray for it but idk if it's correct and I have no idea what color the deck is supposed to be, I know it's a dark grey so I just used Tamiya dark sea gray. I really hate this kit though, I fucked up and bought the wrong photo etch kit from flyhawk for it (Bought USS Gearing when I should have bought USS Chevalier) and the kit's instructions are garbage too. Not only do they give the complete wrong colors on the color chart, but there's so many errors in the instructions themselves
These older Dragon kits are so hard to come by too and I'm just really disappointed in it, I made a lot of mistakes building it too that made things more difficult because when I read the instructions I assumed the deck was the same color as the hull when it's not thus I assembled everything at once thinking it would be an easy paint job until I realized my mistake and had to work around spraying the deck dark gray which was a pain. I also hand painted all of the anti-slip stuff which I also regret, should have just used the decals that came with the kit which were fine.
It's not even clear what year this ship is supposed to be, it says 1945 on the box but it gives decals that look like it's for a cold war 1950s version of the ship when the navy changed over their color scheme for ships to standardize everything and also put much larger numbers on the hull.
I just want to rush through the rest of the process and weather it and put it in a display case and never look at it again, taking such long breaks from building kits makes me very sloppy.
