So I ended up impulse buying this pack off of Pulse (heh) as some recommended. And wow...these guys are awesome. I kinda regret not going all in on the Studio Series 86 guys now because of Rodimus. He's literally like a tiny Masterpiece. Why can't they do this level of engineering on every single figure they make? He's just so good. I watched videos of him because I was kinda dragging my feet in buying this set and I thought he would be bigger. Dude is such a good figure for his size. I feel like the actual Hot Rod release should have had a better paint job in comparison, because I hate when the "evil" versions of characters have far and away the best paint job of the two.
Sideswipe I REALLY wanted to wait for Armada Wheeljack to come out under Gen Selects or something on Pulse since that's the only way I think they can slide him in within the next year or so since the release waves were leaked and he wasn't on them, but I actually kind of like this deco a lot on him. I hope if they do a Wheeljack, they do some heavy retooling to make him more like the Armada version and just recycle the hood from this figure. I mainly wanted him for the Mini-Con, but this is probably the best version of this mold so far. It feels incredibly solid. I wish my Gigawatt felt like this. Gigawatt just feels fiddly in comparison. Only issue is I really don't see where to store his gun in vehicle mode yet like Gigawatt.
All in all, this feels like it was worth what the price was on the site since this is what? A Deluxe and a smaller Voyager with accessories? Definitely hovering about what it's listed at on Pulse.
