They see the handful of people doing cool, original customs and think "I've got to get in on that." but all they can think to do repaint characters into similar characters (that will probably get a figure soon anyway). And then they just barrel ahead regardless of their skill level or cost just to be a part of the customization "scene". TFW does them no favors by praising ever shit custom that gets posted.
