>>8060049>I never gave a fuck about the lore for any of them. I imagine a great many others did too.Nah, I often passed on toys, because I thought the franchise it came from looked like ass or was gay, even if a character or two looked cool. I often wanted figures and toys of characters I saw on tv, it's also why I didn't pick up tons of the Beast Wars figures of characters who didn't appear in the show. And I know a lot of other kids didn't pick up those same figures for the same reasons.
Now if a toy had no lore and I had to make it up myself that was fine, but I might be less inclined to buy them or many of them, because there's no reason to collect them all. Pic related. It was a line I liked as a kid, because the figures were made of that rubber wallk walker type shit where you slapped a toy against a wall and it'd stick and flop down. However these dudes also had armor that snapped over their sticky rubber bodies and weapons that I can't really remember them holding all too well. They couldn't even stand and required a special stand to do so. This line died immediately. I only bought two of these guys. I thought they were kinda cool for their gimmicks at the time, but really didn't give a fuck about them and broke them pretty much with-in a day or two, just ripping them in half.
