Just wanted to see if any anons got some ideas for a project I'm considering.
Many moons ago I cut an old Monster high doll to pieces and experimented with some ball bearing/rod magnet joints. I've never owned an actual figure using these type of joints so learned a few things on the way. Like I need to increase the amount of surface area the ball contacts to increase the resistance. Bending them is solid enough but they swivel around way to easily.
But I've been thinking of trying something similar again in a slightly smaller scale. But I'm still unsure how I'm gonna approach the joints. It's probably going to be the A or C type. The A is simply "ball goes against magnet" while the C type would be a hobby base ball shaped joint with rod magnets at each end that then plug into the limbs.
So I mostly wanted to see if anyone got any experience with these type of figures or just general thoughts?
(The actual design of the dolls themselves are still very rough but I was thinking of using the magnetic joints to create these small mascot bots that you'd rip apart and still to the figures)
