And of course, the only reason you think 1/12 can do it better is just because companies have traditionally treated 1/18 as the budget conscience childrens toyline, so most companies have been cheaper with them. When a toy company treats it like a collectors line though? It's always been fantastic.
Still, with times being as hard as they are, 1:18 has become more limited and only Chinese companies are willing to make 1:18 as their main collector toylines. US companies, since they're already established, have an easier time time getting the more expensive 1:12 lines into stores and aren't willing to do 1:18 anymore.
Higher revenue wins out.

Entire swaths dedicated toward a single toyline and it was like being in heaven, becasue they literally had every character on the shelves. Today? You'll be lucky if you see more than 2 characters if that wave is popular on the 6 pegs dedicated to a toyline.
