>>11056420>Nooooo I can't read! I need pretty pictures so you're wrong!Fucking imbecile.
>Models aren't toys, retard.Ahem.
>" their entry-level models (which were essentially buildable toys)"Also, those soldiers are low-detail because they weren't sculpted to be especially detailed, as they were basically just toy soldiers that came on sprues. If you look at an actual model from the same era? Pretty damn good detailing. This kit (not my pic but I have built one of these) came out in 1971.
>>11056527>We've been talking about children's toys this entire timeSo McFarlane's Tortured Souls line is for children?
The truth is that the US barely has ACTUAL collector toylines, not because US kid's toys are amazing but because they still have to be sold on shelves alongside toys for kids, thus they still have to adhere to safety laws, have to keep the budget low to get the retailers to sell them etc etc. McFarlane and the like fall under the category of "budget collector toys"- aimed at adults but hampered by the need to be sold next to kids' stuff.
There are truly "premium" grade American toys but they're few and far between; 4H stuff which is sold almost exclusively online, and Mezco, though they waste all their budget on overscale cloth and shitty gimmicks like polystone.
And that's before we get to the fact that irrespective of who's copying who, most imports are just flat-out better than their US counterparts.
Also, if that Brute is like any of the other McFarlane Covenant figures I've handled he's probably shit. None of them can hold a pose and they often struggled to fucking stand. Having a good sculpt and paint (debatable, the Elite I have is pretty mushy looking especially around the face) is worthless if it sucks as an actual toy.
You sound like a butthurt ignorant bumpkin mad that the American global hegemony is falling apart around your ears, desperately trying to find ways to prove "American number 1!" despite the fact that just isn't true anymore. Sad!
