>>10161123I know you like to LARP about how much you know about toy manufacturing, but you aren't even trying to prove your point. Especially when 3D printing in current year + 3D modeling speeds up the process and cheapens it compared to the fucking 80s. Why else do you think we have better accurate sonic figures that are cheaper than Jazzwares?
>why would every toy company under the sun rely so much on re-packs, re-paints, etc while spacing out newly tooled figures across dozens of waves?Because it's literally the cheapest marketing strategy and kids don't care that it's a reskin. It's all about profits, who the fuck cares if they use child labor to paint your hotwheels cars under minimum wage. Everyone does this across all media. You really think a plastic toy wouldn't cut corners?
The argument is this. They can afford to make Sonic Prime toys and molds for each skin. It's not complicated, it's not expensive.
>tooling isn't cheap, production is expensiveRead a book, watch a documentary, and total up the manufacturing costs. These are multi-million dollar companies. And they profit heavily from factory to wholesaler alone. They can afford to increase manufacturing costs by a few dollars, sell for the same price, and STILL be in profit.
