It's a concept I've been wanting to work on since the AoD kickstarter, but it's nothing compared to the original concept art someone posted on the old forums that gave me the idea. I would've much rather have used leather armor pieces, but those are so hard to find on a figure for spare parts, but I'm happy with the red gloves and shiny black boots. Throw in a female skele builder torso, some accessories from Mezco's Slugfest set and a coat/cloak from Max Bird, and I'm happy with the results.
But I couldn't just have a Captain with no crew, and since the extra torso that came with the Male Elf Builder set can't actually be used to build a male elf figure, I used it on a spare Goblin builder to create a Goblin crewmate. He could still use some work, but I had an idea of a Goblin who disguises himself as a sea turtle to float up to unsuspecting ships to raid them, and feel he works well for that purpose.
I wanna build a Skeleton First Mate using the 2.0 bones, but I need to hunt down a Shadow Elf for his leather bits to really make the idea work. If there's one set of parts used even less often then the 2.0 leather armor, it's the 2.0 skeleton parts. Which is a shame because the 2.0 Skeletons work so much better then the OG big bones. Hopefully with the upcoming Necro All-Star wave stuff, we'll see some new 2.0 skeleton builds.
