Mantenna defecting because the good guys don't pick an omega wolf to bully is the only logical hook I can think of. Shadow Weaver and Catra like being evil, and Filmation even showed them doing heel-heel turns to Skeletor. Modulok was in King Randor's jail. According to his mini-comic, Grizzlor enjoyed being a predator. We really don't know enough about Leech or less-used Hordesmen to know what they'd offer narratively after a face turn.
