For smaller things like clips, they're redesigned them so they're stronger and less prone to cracking (usually in the shape of the clip itself), but for bricks in general, they're thinner (so thin you can often see the imprint of the hole on the bottom of a plate- from the top, smooth side!), flimsier, and you can reliably pick out the seams and lines from the mold, even on parts that never used to have them (i.e. 1x2 tiles now have a seam going straight through the middle underside of them, which is noticeable on the transparent parts and never used to be there).
There's also the color quality control (read: nonexistent) and STICKERS EVERYWHERE.
