In a subscription based line, on the 30th anniversary of MOTU, it’s beyond me that Scott would essentially force his shit OC onto us in the classics line. Also consider that there’s Lieutenant Spector whose face was literally modeled after Scott. That’s 2 self-inserts in classics. “Mighty” Spector comes equipped with a fucking lightsaber and a time travel device so you can basically shove him into any MOTU story. It’s dumb.
Scott’s defense of this is that in a line with ninjas and cowboys, a superhero should be fine, but consider that Spector looks like a Rob Liefeld character and really has nothing interesting going for him. It’s just a bad donut steel OC design. Rio Blast at least had a fuckton of guns to almost transform with and Ninjor has always been a lesser character- but neither of them are such blatant self-inserts.
