Even if people don't wanna admit it, the bjd community is full of people wanting to copy one another.
It sounds jaded but it's the truth. Whatever people liked these people or not, they influenced people to get into the hobby and copy their style before evolving into something else. It is also the fact that people have higher standards for bjd now, I'm not talking about the older community people but the new bjd people too. They want to be good or get good before even posting their shit.
Kinda how new youtubers nowadays look a 100 times better than older youtubers did back in the day.
It has also to do with social media. IG changes fucked over the community and denofangels sucks major ass with how outdated it is. FB groups also got fucked over because of the FB changes. Tumblr is a ghost town and Twitter is all over the place. There is not a real "place" for bjd people to call their new home. It is extremely hard to form a community with how social media works now. Even when it comes to fandoms.
