>>9553184>Zvezda's 1/100 lineup seems pretty high quality from what I've heard,Don't be fooled. Most of that range isn't that great.
They started it with their own wargame in mind, (no idea if it was successful in russia/eastern europe, but at least the models sell well enough to continue the range, popularity of the games FoW and Battlegroup certainly helped i guess).
The first entries of Zvezdas 1/100 range are terrible. We are speaking about literal 4-6-piece models, upper/lower hull, tracks left/right and turret (1 piece turrets are the norm for almost all of them).
They changed that over the years and releases and the kits got better (like all the Zvezda releases got better over the time),
Pic related is one of their T-26 tanks. Its decent for what its supposed to be: a gaming token for a 15mm wargame, but its not a very good scale model. It just isn't.
The newer ones have more parts, turrets have seperate guns, side skirts of Pz 4 or Brumbaer for example are kinda thin and separate etc.
If you are looking for a 1/100 kit, spend the 5 minutes extra to check the actual parts before buying, because not all of them will reward you with an actual kit building experience.
Interestingly enough, the kits made by Battlefront (FoW) and Plastic Soldier Company in 1/100 (15mm) are often more detailed, with more parts than the early Zvezda 1/100 tanks.
