The basic tools for either are a pick/needle shape, a knife, a small spoon, a wire loop, and a ball shape tool. You don't really need to buy any special tools, you just need something to move, shape, add, remove, flatten, smooth or texturize the clay/epoxy. And there's probably something you already own that will do the job.
