>>5318604That's a bullshit excuse. The original NES/Famicom sprites display no visible headband color. The original arcade sprites show player 1 with blonde hair and a blue headband, and player 2 with black hair and a red headband. The art used for the arcade, famicom, and NES all show this style, with blonde hair /blue headband, black hair /red headband. When it as ported to the Famicom/NES, it's obvious that this kind of headband detail wouldn't work for how small the sprite is, so they designated p1 with blue pants and p2 with red pants, mimicking the headband colors from the arcade sprites and all of the artwork. NECA fucked up and they're too chickenshit to admit it. Instead, they pass the blame onto Konami and creating a bullshit excuse of the non-existent red headband in the console ports, pic related.
