Their "retro" RX-78-2s, like the Ver. A.N.I.M.E. RD or MG 2.0, don't do nearly enough to mimic the vintage style, they adopt a few of the aesthetic details and slap it onto a relatively modern-looking template. The Best Mecha Collection one is probably your best bet.
Actually, a third problem: "anime accurate" is tough here because 0079 was so frequently off-model.
