Got my Ultraman X and Alien Baltan from the Bluefin black friday sale in today and I love em both already. Baltan is a really barebones but beautiful figure. Feels nice and sturdy, and fun to mess around with. He's really top heavy, but his giant feet help to balance him out when posing.
As for X I was a little worried the armor swap would make him feel a little flimsy but everything snaps on nice and tight and he poses like a dream. The worst part is probably swapping out fists for the cyber gauntlets. Switching hands with those ball joints is always the worst part of Figuarts and having the joint you're plugging into recessed inside a giant hunk of plastic doesn't help. That said this is the first Ultraman I've bought since Ultra-Act Zero 2.0 and the 50th Anniversary Edition Figuarts, both of which turned out to be floppy mess that I ended up majorly disappointed in outside their accessories. It's good to see the series figures have improved so much since then.
From what I can tell X didn't sell gangbusters so it's still easy to find at list price or lower, but with Ultraman gaining more traction and a larger fanbase outside Japan I could definitely see this being one of those figures that fires up in price later on down the line. So if you're even slightly interested I'd say its worth the buy.
