The fucking artists who drew the model sheets, the storyboards, the comics, whatever, they never anticipated that the drawings they had to do in bulk for a sizable cast would be the today arguments of something they thought would be a fad in the 1980's. They looked at a toy, saw its weaknesses and improved upon them. Today we should be improving on their work but instead everything must bend backwards for that look, no matter the cost.
