>>8861032This project was actually 100% done in Maya. It uses magnets as a joint system to simulate itself falling apart and being able to be put back together.
My usual work flow if its working from scratch or converting a model rip. Is do most of the solid modeling/slicing in Maya and using Maya's animation tools and booleans functionality to create joint sockets. Maya can do precise measurements sub mm but you may need to convert depending on your slicer. Mudbox is for nothing more than adding organic detail such as facial details, fabric or fur.
Since I was printing FDM I never made joints but I might now I own a resin printer but I essentially made Templates to fit 3mm Revo Joints and 3mm Hobby Base Joints (Fucking terrible btw) Then used the booleans function to create proper joint sockets. I should consider doing a video of the work flow but I got too much shit on my plate. Heres a converted model rip which came out OK. I also need to revisit this with the new printer since I can do better joints now.
