DB Krillin and Namek Saga Krillin are two drastically different character models and I'd argue they have improved sculpting and proportions over time. (I.e. Namek Krillin looks more accurate to the source material than DB Krillin does and the same goes for original Gohan vs Saiyan Armor.) I'll also be the first to admit that DB Figuarts' strength has never been in smaller characters. Aside from maybe ChiChi, they haven't made a small character look as good as someone like Broly or Cooler.
In the context of Gohan, I understand the hate for the original because it looks awkward and terrible no matter how you pose it, but the new one doesn't have those issues to the same degree. It isn't perfect by any means, but think it looks good and miles better than any alternative that currently exists or likely will exist in the coming years.
Call it cope, low standards, or whatever you want...but the new Gohan is an improvement and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
