If the former, why do you think it's so important that they repaint the movie figures into a color it doesn't actually have? A blue repaint might have some audience as a kind of alt-universe exclusive, but turning the color wheel a millimeter to the left isn't going to make people choose it over the actual movie deco, or even double-dip on the mold.
