>>8184539Yeah the move towards plastic commander kits like with the SM and Terminator Chaos lord was great. No clue why they didn't keep it going. I bought several of those kits just for parts to make cool squad leaders and just fun side kits all the time.
>>8185417Yeah I have very little issue with them just making truescale the norm, it's just the visual design and the lore behind it all. Instead of it being a setting in which to place your own stuff and ideas, it became a playground for a few really terrible authors all pretending that they're writing something great and not just justifying a new version of an old kit to investors and whales.
It's especially sad because you can pinpoint two specific spots in where GW and 40k took a massive downturn, and it was when Andy Chambers left mid-3e and when Priestly dropped around 6e. Every bit of care and love that the setting had for people actually participating in the hobby got sucked out to sell to the newest kids who just wanted a quick win with as little effort in every other part of the hobby.
Feels like everything unique and everything I loved from the lore down to the way the models are now is just flattened and made to appeal to everyone except those who were invested for any amount of time.
>>8184527>>8184539In the defence of the old single cast metal minis, they were at least usually very interesting and unique sculpts, not just the same goddamn CAD model posed slightly differently with the same exact pauldrons and helmets. Like even the limited mail in and army box HQs had more unique sculpting and character than the primaris lieutenant meme.
