Ive brought Japanese exchange students over to talk with and they are always like "sugoi"
One of them actually said "ah, you are weeb" i laughed so hard
its all about the personality you exhibit, if you are a timid person its harder to play it off, but if you have one nendo in the room, dont even pay attention unless its brought up, and even then just say "Oh its a cute little figure I got"
if you are a boisterous person you are less likely to be caught off guard
and if they talk shit, tell em to fuck off, thats how we do it in Australia :^)
